Welcome to the 2024/2025 school year, my name is Troy Gassaway and I am the principal at Markham Middle School. I have worked in education for over twenty five years. For the last thirteen years, I have served as a secondary school administrator. As an El Dorado County resident, I am extremely excited to be a member of the Panther Family and I'm committed to continuing the great culture that exists on our campus. Our goal is to continue our tradition of being one of the best middle schools in El Dorado County.
If you are new to Markham, welcome to the Panther Family. If you are returning, welcome back and thank you for laying a great foundation for student achievement. This year, we are looking forward to building on our strong academic, athletic, activities and club success. Additionally, we plan to support our students in all areas of growth while we navigate modem challenges that face our kids today. With your support, we are looking forward to a great 2024/2025 school year beginning with our first day of school, August 15th at 8:00 am. Our bell schedule has not changed since last year. We will start each day at 8:00 am and release students at 2:29 pm. Every Monday is an early release day for teacher collaboration and students will start at 8:00 am and be dismissed at 1:15 pm.
After August 1st, all parents, guardians, and caregivers, need to log in, review, and update information on the "Parent Portal Account" in Aeries that may be inaccurate or has changed since last year. Previous Schnell and Sierra students are already registered at Markham, so you don't need to register, but please log in and review all of your information for accuracy. We need this information updated before we can release student schedules or textbooks for the 2024/2025 school year.
